Glucosamine Sulphate

Glucosamine is often considered the “backbone” of many equine joint supplements. Research suggests that Glucosamine Sulphate may enhance the integrity and resilience of healthy articular cartilage and the viscosity of synovial fluid in equine joints. Along with its role in the production and protection of cartilage, Glucosamine Sulphate may also provide joint, ligament and tendon support.

Dosage

10g per day/500kg horse

Introduce gradually into the diet over 14 day period. Add to feed, split into two feeds (morning and night where possible, i.e 5g each feed).

Glucosamine has been shown to function more effectively in the presence of a bio-available source of sulfur such as MSM Powder. People will often feed these two supplements in conjunction with one another for maximum effectiveness on equine joints.
