Marshmallow Root Powder owes its primary therapeutic effects to its significant mucilage and pectin content. Pectin is a soluble fiber that assists with intestinal functioning and maintaining optimal blood sugar levels. Mucilages are compounds which, when combined with water form a slimy, slippery texture that contain the soothing and protective properties. Mucilages also have the ability to bind together toxins and assist in eliminating these from the body.

We suggest using Marshmallow Root Powder in conjunction with Aloe Vera for treating ulcers. Hardworking horses, or those prone to colic (especially in association with ulcers), may benefit from regular inclusion of Marshmallow in their feed.
